Green Building
Bath/Sunroom Addition, South Bend Indiana
Every project that we do are held to the same requirements in following sustainable practices like LEED, Build It Green, CalGreen and/or the local green building ordinance.
This project was to increase the kitchen space towards the front, increase one bath, and add a sunroom toward the backyard. The basement would get a face lift with an addtion of a full bath. Some of the sustainable features in the house were passive cooling with ceiling fans, retrofitted storm windows, cement siding, and an incorporated frost protected shallow foundation, an innovative feature at that time.
